In the 1930s Fortnum & Mason claimed to have the most comprehensive selection of honey in the country.  The little pots, and the box, were first produced in the early 1930s. Made in the Potteries, each pot contained a different honey, sealed with wax paper and secured with a wax rim.  The empty pots could be returned to the Piccadilly store for refilling
